I had the pleasure of visiting a retirement community recently in central, PA. A quote leader in the industry.

I can tell you that I have never in my life seen a home product so poorly built. I had the pleasure of speaking to some of the current residents who warned me not to buy a home in their community as the builder, Traditions of America, does not deliver a product that meets the garbage their guy Frank Cirrincione spreads. Not only that, but alleged rumors of gun toting employees and sex acts in model homes was enough for me to pass on spending my life savings on their garbage. He's a royal *** artist who spends more time talking about golf then fixing the problems on his site.

I only passed through a home under construction and wasn't at all impressed. Adhesive in particleboard doesn't like extreme temperatures, their speck homes all lack active heating and cooling systems while they sit empty.

The framing had bent boards and met "code" but wasn't at all worth the price. I'll spend my 400K elsewhere.

Monetary Loss: $299.

Location: Brooklyn, New York

The allegations made by "Anonymous" are untrue. Traditions of America adheres to all insurance and employment regulations.

If "Anonymous" wishes to identify itself, he/she may contact me directly to discuss this at 215-732-9600, ext.

An update: Nathan Jameson is no longer a managing partner at Traditions of America.

The subcontractors' workers usually don't speak English and for sure don't read. The nominal subcontractors don't carry workers comp, liability or any of those cost increasing legal niceties that are purportedly required by law.

They hire day laborer so. The local township hires inspectors who cover their behinds while looking the other way. So, much of the product is built to medium grade immigrant peasant standards.

Traditions of America is mostly built by illegal immigrants.

Cynical. True.

Absolutely correct! Do not let them take your money and run!

In addition to shoddy construction, customer service after move-in is terrible. Company management is arrogant.

Its the same at Sewickley Ridge in Pittsburgh. Both onsite and corporate TOA personnel are arrogant and condescending and treat you like you are novices at home ownership.

An additional comment to my comment made yesterday. DO NOT SIGN THE PROMISSORY NOTE YOU ARE GIVEN IN THE DESIGN CENTER.

This is the balance due of your options, which is added to the price of the house and collected at settlement, per their agreement. A Promissory Note is not mentioned in their Agreement, at least not the one we signed. Traditions has threatened legal action against us as additional money due for our cancellation. Also, DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNLESS IT HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND SIGNED BY TRADITIONS FIRST.

This was a mistake we made by releasing our contingency; the ESTIMATED settlement date was completed and never given to us. Be very careful with these people.

Have an attorney read the sales agreement before you sign. It is written to the advantage of Traditions, not the consumer.

Traditions can delay your home for up to six months PAST the ESTIMATED settlement date with NO penalty to them. Of course, the ESTIMATED settlement date can be five months or more from the time of building permit issuance. So plan on a year from the time you sell your house until you may be able to move into the new home. If you use their Homefree Program, they will tell you the sooner you sell your home, the sooner you will have your new home.

Based on the above, it really doesn't matter how quickly you sell your home. We walked away from money just to get out of this place, and they wanted us to sign a confidentiality agreement so we could not share our experience; we did not agree to do so because that requirement is not in their sales agreement. Most people can't afford to walk away, so do yourself a favor and have an attorney read everything they give you to sign before you make a decision. This isn't the only over-55 development in Mechanicsburg or Central PA.

Oh, yes, and if you bring up this website, they will say it was written by a disgruntled past employee. It's possible that's who started it, but that's not who is commenting now.

Wish I would have seen this article before getting involved with this bunch. Take your money and then have to wait months after their approx. closing date before your see a finished product.
